UNIVERSITY OF CUMBRIA
AIMS are appointed to produce an estates strategy for this 10,000 FTE distributed HE institution. The residential portfolio of 1800 beds is a major consideration. The college owns over 100 buildings in Lancaster, Carlisle, Ambleside, Barrow-in-Furness and Whitehaven.


UNIVERSITY OF WESTMINSTER
AIMS have been appointed to carry out a comprehensive option analysis report for the whole of Westminster’s residential estate portfolio. This includes advice on future financing options, ownership structures and service levels.

AIMS are appointed to develop a brief and feasibility options for the re use of the famous Baker St Tower and campus at Harrow.


UNIVERSITY OF WALES, ABERYSTWYTH
The University of Wales, Aberystwyth is at the heart of the economic health and regeneration of Mid Wales and is embarking on the development of its Estates Strategy at an auspicious time.

AIMS has begun the detailed work of appraising the needs of the University for the next 10 years and has opened discussions with local stakeholders. Our work coincides with the development of a Masterplan for the Town being led by the Welsh Assembly Government. AIMS is delighted to be assisting the University and is working to ensure that the University gets best value out of both processes.


HEFCE
AIMS are appointed to research opportunities for the sector to influence policy under the new planning system.

AIMS have also been appointed jointly with SJ Berwin to revise the 1998 CVCP Planning Guidelines for all UK Universities.


LEICESTER GRAMMAR SCHOOL
AIMS are appointed to provide a planning / alternative use strategy on 4 surplus sites to maximise value. Work includes dealing with complex listed building issues. AIMS are also assisting the college in refining the brief and user requirements.


DE MONTFORT UNIVERSTITY
Viability / disposal option analysis for Scraptoft Campus. 28 acres of land + part brownfield / part greenfield, grade II Star listed old hall.

Alternative use negotiations with the planners. Conditional contract sale negotiations on 2 acre former student union site. Complex disposal

Set Client objectives, provide brief for new £3m Centre for Excellence in Teaching & Learning Leicester and £20m new build business school. £40m retail / residential mixed used development.

Reserved matters application and delivery plan for Magazine Gateway development.


WELSH FUNDING COUNCIL
AIMS advised the Welsh Funding Council on its response to the National Audit Office report to the Welsh Assembly Government into the energy efficiency of the Higher Education estate in Wales.


SOUTH LEICESTERSHIRE COLLEGE
AIMS have been appointed to complete a property strategy leading to briefs for two new build college campuses with a value of £20m in Market Harborough and Wigston.

The proposal forms a core part of the town centre regeneration strategy and is a live application for LSC funding.


BIRMINGHAM NEW HOSPITALS JOINT VENTURE
AIMS have been appointed to deal with the strategic planning and land use strategy of this complex PFI and Regeneration Scheme between University Hospital Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust (UHBFT), Birmingham & Solihull Mental Health NHS Trust (BSMHT) and Consort Healthcare in Birmingham.


MILLER DEVELOPMENTS – ARENA CENTRAL J.V.
AIMS have been appointed to coordinate and programme the submission of a planning application for this 3 million sq.ft. mixed use, regeneration scheme.


UNIVERSITY OF BEDFORDSHIRE
AIMS have been appointed to write the University’s 10 year estates strategy. This includes a thorough investigation of the useful life of its 130 bed residential portfolio and all its academic accommodation. AIMS are also producing funding strategy including a business case for a joint application for a Regeneration Company jointly with the Council.

AIMS have been engaged to pull together a brief and finance for a 70,000ft Square new incubator centre to be managed by the university – value £23m.
